Please order your repeat medication requests in one of the following ways:

  • Via on-line ordering, our reception team can provide a user name and password. Please bring photographic ID to facilitate this.
  • Via the new Medicines Order Line, telephone 01246 588860. A dedicated and trained member of staff will discuss your individual needs, any queries and process your prescription.
  • Using your paper prescription order form and delivering this to the practice.

You can nominate a preferred pharmacy, and we will send your prescriptions there if this has been requested, but you should order the medicines yourself via one of the methods listed above.

On-line ordering and the medicines order line are the safest and most efficient methods for patients to order repeat prescriptions.

Please allow 2 working days for processing within the surgery.

Electronic Prescribing Service

Inspire Health is set up for the Electronic Prescribing Service.

This means that for most of our patients we can send a prescription directly to your chosen pharmacy saving you the inconvenience of having to come to the surgery.

To get your prescription sent to your chosen pharmacy you will need to ask reception to add the nomination to your record.

Prescription Fees

Help with NHS costs

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:

  • those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
  • those who are age exempt
  • those with certain medical conditions
  • More information is available at NHS Choices

NHS Charges

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

  • Prescription (per item): £9.65
  • 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £111.60
  • 3-month PPC: £31.25

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website.
